Becor House, an existing 1940s landmark building, and adjacent Minster House will be extensively refurbished and significantly extended to accommodate the new College of Science.
The existing floors will be converted into state-of-the-art laboratories, teaching spaces and research facilities for the 1,500 students and 100 staff of the School of Life Sciences and the proposed School of Pharmacy.
A key element of the scheme is the addition of the new hub, which provides catering and breakout spaces as well as informal teaching and learning areas.
The project is the first phase of Lincoln Science and Innovation Park, a joint venture between University of Lincoln and Lincolnshire Co-operative for the comprehensive regeneration of disused land and buildings along Green Lane and Beevor Street.
