The comprehensive refurbishment and extension of the 1970’s building created a contemporary office environment with stunning views across the Brayford Pool.
The new extension at fourth floor provides visual interest at high level and uses the panoramic view across Brayford Pool to best effect; the lightweight canopy over new reception creates a focal point for the entrances and the improved access.
The design facilitates a low-energy use of the building by promoting mixed-mode ventilation and enhancing the external envelope through significant thermal improvements of walls and windows.
The scheme won an RIBA East Midlands Award 2011.
